100 MILE HOUSE Open Ideas design competition open for submissions

The Architecture Foundation of British Columbia (AFBC) has announced the launch of an international design competition to create a house design using materials and technology sourced within 100 miles of the city of Vancouver.

This competition challenges the way we think about our buildings and how we choose to live in them. This is an entry call to architects, designers, students, artists and to anyone who is passionate about design. A jury of globally recognized architects and sustainability experts will select the winning entries to be showcased at a gala event on May 19, 2012 and at Western Canadas largest design and trade show, IDSwest, on September 27-29, 2012 at the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre.

The AFBC promotes the appreciation, awareness and understanding of architecture in British Columbia.
