55 hybrid electric Nova Bus vehicles delivered to Toronto
Bus manufacturer Nova Bus is very pleased to announce the ongoing delivery of 55 of its hybrid electric vehicles to the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). This announcement was made today by the TTC, the City of Toronto and the Government of Canada, in the presence of Adam Vaughan, Member of Parliament for Spadina-Fort York, and Toronto Mayor John Tory. This delivery is part of a larger order of 325 buses awarded to Nova Bus by TTC after an intensive competition and evaluation period in 2017.

These next generation hybrid electric buses are driven by electric motors powered by on-board battery system, both of which are produced by BAE Systems. This allows better fuel economy and it reduces maintenance costs and emissions. In addition, all on-board systems such as doors, HVAC and power steering are fully electrified.
