The City of Brampton has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the redevelopment of the Heritage Theatre Block and City-owned properties within the Southern Block, located at Main Street and Queen Street.

These properties in Brampton will be transformed into an urban renewal project to support downtown revitalization. The vision will be to re-imagine them as a landmark development at the historic Four Corners, which will complement the Rose Theatre, Garden Square and the Innovation District.

The key objectives for the redevelopment include advancing the city’s strategic properties, leveraging them as inherent assests and maximizing their potential through quality design, and respecting the heritage context of the downtown through preservation and enhancement of existing heritage character and more.

As a result, the City is seeking high-quality proposals, experienced proponents, and investors for the redevelopment of the subject lands.

“The vision is to re-imagine the potential of these strategic properties in the heart of the City of Brampton as a landmark development at the historic Four Corners complementing the Rose Theatre, Garden Square, and the Innovation District. The landmark property shall be an anchor of activity for residents and visitors alike to support the economic vitality of the City with arts and culture entertainment attractions, office, post-secondary institutional uses, commercial and retail uses, restaurants, and accommodate housing needs in the downtown,” reads the City of Brampton’s website.

Work continues to transform the downtown into an activity hub for both residents and visitors that will support the economic vitality of the city.

Proposals may be submitted to [email protected] by April 30, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. EST.
