Eclipsall solar PV panels featured on three Toronto municipal buildings
The City of Toronto will receive three photovoltaic (PV) systems engineered by Carmanah Technologies that will feature locally manufactured Eclipsall solar modules. In all, the three properties will require a total of 1,040 Eclipsall NRG 60 solar panels. Toronto Hydro-Electric System Limited awarded Carmanah the contract to engineer, design and construct the three solar rooftop systems earlier this month.
Carmanah selected Eclipsall as a key supplier for these projects. “Eclipsall modules were the best fit for this project,” comments Derek Frohloff, VP of Carmanah’s Power Systems Group. “We chose Eclipsall based on solar performance, reliability and connection to the local community.”
The first of the projects, and the one that officially starts the group, is a rooftop array on the McGregor Arena and Community Centre in Scarborough. York Mills Arena and Mimico Arena in Etobicoke are the two other projects using Eclipsall panels.
The McGregor Arena project is 75kW in size and will feature 390 of Eclipsall’s NRG 60 polycrystalline 240W panels. The project is currently under construction and will be completed by the end of the calendar year.
Along with panels from Eclipsall, the McGregor Arena project contains racking from Schletter and Advanced Energy supplies the inverters.
