WINNIPEG – Artis Real Estate Investment Trust of Winnipeg has acquired $213.1 million worth of properties in Alberta and British Columbia. The 824,000-sq.-ft. of leasable area includes two Class B industrial buildings in Edmonton, a Class A four-building office and retail complex in Nanaimo, B.C., the Class A three-building TransAlta Headquarters complex in Calgary, and The Powell River Town Centre, a retail outlet in Powell River, B.C.
Artis REIT, formerly known as Westfield Real Estate Investment Trust, targets commercial properties in Western Canada, and now has a portfolio of 4.8 million square feet over 54 properties.
