Halsall’s Jenny McMinn appointed to City of Toronto’s Design Review Panel

Halsall Associates is pleased to announce that Jenny McMinn has been appointed to the City of Toronto’s Design Review Panel as a Sustainability Advisor.

McMinn joined Halsall seven years ago and currently leads the company’s inter-disciplinary GTA Green Building team. With a degree in architecture, she was instrumental in developing Halsall’s green building team from an engineering-based consulting service into a nationally recognized sustainability design resource.

McMinn has successfully helped teams see the connection between architecture and building physics on iconic Canadian buildings such as the University of British Columbia’s new Student Union Building (under construction, targeting LEED NC Platinum); Toronto’s Pan Am Athletes Village (under construction, targeting LEED NC Gold), and the Toronto Dominion Centre (through its award-winning environmental optimization program, which achieved LEED EB Platinum certification). She is also helping organizations integrate sustainability into their core business on projects such as California High Speed Rail and Cadillac Fairview’s National Sustainability Program.

The City of Toronto Design Review Panel is a volunteer body which provides independent design advice to City’s Planning staff. Comprising private-sector professionals – architects, landscape architects, urban designers and engineers – the Panel is charged with improving Torontonians’ quality of life by promoting design excellence in the public realm.
