McGillivray Group partners with Zehr and Vanguard on residential development in Kitchener
Professional contractor and real estate investor Scott McGillivray has announced a new residential development through his company The McGillivray Group, in partnership with Zehr Group and Vanguard Developments. Branded “The Walter” because of its location at 100 Walter Street, this four-story, 38-unit rental building is located in the heart of Midtown Kitchener, and is slated for occupancy in the spring of 2017.
“I see huge value in this area with the massive growth plan by the city, and all the high profile tech companies establishing themselves here,” says Scott McGillivray. “It’s definitely growing at a great pace, which makes it an excellent place to invest.”
In fact, there has been well over $440 million invested in downtown Kitchener since 2004 as part of a municipal strategy to establish downtown Kitchener as “one of the best downtowns in North America that offers a complete sense of community while offering cool, unique, vibrant and eclectic experiences.”*
Situated directly across from green space and just steps to the Google HQ and the new LRT, The Walter is positioned to provide a unique and vibrant experience. The Walter will feature upscale quality finishes with a contemporary flair. The foundations work at 100 Walter Street has already started and the building will be out of the ground by the end of summer. Building occupancy is slated for Spring 2017.
