Nominations for Oshawa Urban Design Awards closing this week

The Oshawa Urban Design Awards program was created in 2011 to recognize the significant contributions that architects, landscape architects, urban designers, planners, developers, builders and other individuals make to the appearance, livability and quality of life in the Ontario city of Oshawa. Recognize excellence in architecture and urban design in Oshawa today; nominations close Friday, April 13, 2018.

The Urban Design Awards program celebrates projects that reflect excellence in architecture and urban design and enhance the image of the city.

Nominations are free and can be made by anyone. Examples of past nominations include buildings, neighbourhoods, public spaces, streets, parks, etc. Nominated projects must have been completed after March 15, 2014.

The program brochure  and nomination forms are available for download or pick-up at Service Oshawa, located at City Hall (50 Centre St. S.) and Planning Services (eighth floor of City Hall).

Winning projects will receive an Award of Excellence from the City of Oshawa and be recognized at a formal ceremony in June 2018. In addition, award winners may be eligible to participate in the 2018 National Urban Design Awards (Tier II) Program administered by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.
