Operations Leader appointed president of Golder Associates Ltd. in Canada
Golder Associates Ltd. has made Mark Brightman president of the firm’s Canadian operations. Brightman replaces Brian H. Conlin, who was recently appointed as president and CEO of Golder Associates’ global corporation.
“The role of president embodies the opportunity to build a strong team and make a difference,” explains Brightman. “We will continue to pursue quality and technical excellence through the same tried and trusted methods Golder has used since our founding: hire people smarter than ourselves, mentor and train them well, and rigorously review every solution to ensure we help our client’s meet their environmental, social, and business goals.”
Prior to accepting this new role, Brightman served as Golder’s Canadian Leader for Consulting Operations, working closely with the Canadian Management Team. “For the past five years Mark’s contributions to our team have been integral in leading Golder through unprecedented growth, diversification, and expansion in Canada,” remarked Conlin, now president of global operations. “I am confident his strong leadership skills will guide the firm to continued prosperity in the years to come.”
Starting in the Nottingham, United Kingdom office as a hydrogeologist Brightman chose to expand his international experience with a move to the Washington D.C. office, and finally the Calgary office, fostering growth and innovation as a consultant, office manager, regional manager, and national leader.
With a wealth of experience in oil and gas, mining, waste disposal, northern, and aboriginal related developments across Canada and around the globe, Brightman is a proven leader in both the technical and management arenas. Combining his knowledge of the consulting business with his drive for innovation, Mr. Brightman is poised to lead Golder Associates Ltd. into its 50th year of success in Canada.
