Realstar Management receives award for suite renovation under $7,500

Realstar Management recently accepted the Annual Achievement Award for Suite Renovation under $7,500 presented at the Federation of Rental Housing providers of Ontario (FRPO) gala.

“We are honoured to receive recognition as an industry leader in residential suite renovations for our long standing Bradford property,” said Scott Bigford, SVP of Operations, Realstar Management. “The renovation introduced new design concepts and colour palettes enhancing the overall appeal for current and prospective residents.”

Submissions for this award were received from companies province-wide. Realstar Management’s project successfully transformed “Bachelor” suites into one-bedroom “Studio” suites at the property. “We are proud to accept this award in a city that houses one of the company’s primary properties and are committed to providing quality living in ‘Canada’s vegetable basket’ known as Bradford,” added Bigford.

In addition to the award for suite renovation, employees Mel and Liberty Pitel were presented with the prestigious Resident Manager of the Year award at the Federation of Rental Housing providers of Ontario (FRPO) annual gala. “We are delighted by Mel and Liberty’s motivation and exemplary performance as exhibited by their career progression within our organization,” noted Bigford. “They effectively manage a team of employees and work closely with them to facilitate smooth day-to-day operations at our prestigious property Residences on Bloor, located at Bloor and Church Street.”

Trained and practiced civil engineers originally from the Philippines, Mel and Liberty immigrated to Canada with their three children in 2001 with no prior exposure to the property management industry. They began their career with Realstar as Assistant Resident Managers that same year. Through dedication, commitment and the ability to combine their work experiences, they quickly advanced to Senior Resident Managers in 2004 and have maintained this challenging role ever since.
