Request for proposals issued for McMaster Children’s Health Centre project
Infrastructure Ontario and Hamilton Health Sciences Corporation have released a request for proposals inviting three shortlisted consortia to submit proposals to design, build and finance the new McMaster Children’s Treatment Centre.
The shortlisted teams were chosen following evaluations based on a competitive request for qualifications process that began in September 2012. They all include companies with proven experience and capabilities in financing, designing and constructing large and complex projects. They are:
PCL Constructors Canada Inc.:
• PCL – Constructor
• TD Securities – Financial Advisor
• Stantec – Architect
Integrated Team Solutions (ITS):
• EllisDon – Constructor
• Fengate Capital – Financial Advisor
• B+H – Architect with McCallum Sather – Architect
Kids Health Infrastructure Solutions:
• Carillion Canada Inc. – Constructor
• Investec Capital – Financial Advisor
• Zeidler Partnership with Mitchell Architects – Architect
The successful team will be selected and announced in fall 2013.
The new treatment centre will be constructed on Wellington Street across from the Regional Rehabilitation Centre. It will be fully accessible and will include an outdoor wheeling track, a therapeutic playground and physiotherapy space. The new site will bring together a number of programs that are currently located at Hamilton Health Sciences’ Chedoke site, including: Autism Spectrum Disorders services; Child and Youth Mental Health Program; Developmental Pediatrics and Rehabilitation services; Prosthetic and Orthotic services. Together, these programs accommodate 70,000 visits annually.
