Request for qualifications issued for Humber College project
Infrastructure Ontario has released a request for qualifications (RFQ) for companies interested in designing, building and financing the Learning Resource Commons at Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning.
The Learning Resource Commons is an academic support and student services facility that will be the new main entrance of Humber College’s North Campus in Etobicoke. The new building will help accommodate more than 2,200 new students and feature group and independent study space, an expanded library, enhanced student services and a student gallery and showcase.
The Humber College project will proceed under Infrastructure Ontario’s Alternative Financing and Procurement model, which transfers risks associated with designing, constructing and financing the building to the private sector.
RFQ submissions will be reviewed to pre-qualify project teams with the design and construction experience, qualified personnel and financial capacity to deliver a project of this size and complexity.
Pre-qualified teams will be invited to respond to a request for proposals (RFP) for the Humber College project, which will be issued in the summer of 2012.
