Sweeny & Co Architects to Design McMaster’s DeGroote School of Business Addition

Sweeny & Co Architects has been selected to design the McLean Centre for Collaborative Discovery, a new addition to the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University
.

The nine-storey building will include state-of-the-art classrooms, student meeting and collaboration space, as well as interactive technology. It will be constructed on the Westdale campus at a site adjacent to the School of Business.

The addition is set to feature integrated technology for campus life, business applications and building operations, as well as to support of the health and wellness of students, faculty and staff.

According to Sweeny & Co Architects, this approach anticipates and embraces the integration of leading-edge technology, as well as systems of cross-functional and interactive tools. This reflects current business practices, which include broad based IT, AV, personal devices and building management systems.

Formed in 1988, Sweeny & Co Architects’ Toronto-based firm’s clients include the University of Toronto, Ryerson University, OCAD University, Laurentian University and UOIT.

Sweeny & Co Architects plans to create a transformative space designed to offer an authentic business environment so that learning flows effortlessly from theory to practice.
