TWD Technologies to build Canada’s largest biodiesel plant

TWD Technologies has been selected by Great Lakes Biodiesel (GLB) to build Canada’s largest biodiesel plant, which will produce ASTM 6751 quality biodiesel made primarily from Canadian vegetable oils such as canola and soybean. TWD is providing full engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) for the plant located in Welland, Ont., scheduled to be operational by the Fall of 2012.

“We are thrilled to be part of a project that will help improve Canada’s fuel supply,” said Scott Wilson, TWD Technologies principal. “Biodiesel is a renewable fuel that is certain to be a key part of the world’s energy supply solution.”

“Great Lakes Biodiesel is proud to be working with TWD and other highly skilled workers in the Niagara region to complete the plant. We believe TWD brings invaluable experience, having worked on other large refinery projects to oversee the construction completion of our plant,” commented Barry Kramble C.E.O of Great Lakes Biodiesel.

When completed, the Great Lakes Biodiesel plant will have the capacity to produce 170 million litres of biodiesel per year.
